The ICT4PPRR workshop aims to gather researchers and experts working in the field of public safety, emergency response, protection, disaster risk reduction of natural resources, resilience and recovery of critical infrastructures.

Disasters, natural or not, may occur on a metropolitan (e.g., building collapse, airplane crash, car crash, etc.) or on a large scale (e.g., earthquake, forest fire, flooding, etc.) and may involve critical infrastructures as well (e.g., gas pipelines, electric power systems, telecommunications networks, etc.). Therefore, protection of critical infrastructures from one side and prompt emergency response from the other play a fundamental role in saving human lives, protecting properties and recovering from system failure.

The workshop very large area of interests includes, but is not limited to, ICT systems, wireless technologies, network architectures, spectrum management, fast deployable systems, interoperability, disaster risk reduction and crisis management, secure communications, safety related systems and vehicular communications.

Results from research activities, demonstrations, test-bed and prototype testing are encouraged by universities, research institutes, industries and companies.

Joint papers from different institutions are welcome. Extended and revised versions of selected papers will be considered for publication in special issues of the journals listed here.

You may download the Call for Papers Flyer here.

Papers must be original material not currently under review by another conference or journal. Submission implies the willingness of at least one of the authors to register and present the paper. All accepted papers will be published by the IEEE Press and will appear in the Conference Proceedings and on IEEE Xplore.

All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings, and will be submitted for inclusion in IEEE Digital Xplore. Authors are required to submit fully formatted papers (PDF), with graphs, images, and other special areas arranged as intended for the final publication. Papers should be written in English conforming to the IEEE standard conference format (8.5" x 11" - US letter or A4, Two-Column). The final manuscript for publication will be limited to six (6) pages (maximum of two (2) additional pages can be purchased, each paper cannot exceed eight (8) pages). You can find a copy of the IEEE standard conference template for Microsoft Word or LaTeX formats here. Your paper must be printable in order to be accepted.

At least one of the authors of each accepted paper has to register at the regular rate (non-student). Each registration will cover one accepted paper. WiMob Executive Committee reserves the right not to include in IEEE Explore the papers that are not presented at the conference.

WiMob 2020 is using the EDAS Conference Management System to manage the paper submission process. During the initial paper submission process via EDAS, it is the authors' responsibility to ensure that the author list and the paper title of the submitted PDF file is an exact match to the author list and paper title on the EDAS registration page. In particular, the EDAS registration page must include all co‐authors, not just the submitting author. Failure to comply with this rule might result in your paper being withdrawn from the review process. Please be aware that the author list of an accepted paper can not be changed in the final manuscript. Only PDF files will be accepted for the review process and all submissions must be done through EDAS.

IEEE PDF eXpress

Only for final manuscript (after acceptance). Initial Submission doesn’t require IEEE pdf eXpress!

WiMob 2020 has registered to use the the IEEE tool: IEEE PDF eXpress.

According to the new IEEE Xplore Requirements for PDF, all conference articles submitted for inclusion in IEEE Xplore must adhere to the IEEE Xplore PDF specification for compatibility.

IEEE PDF eXpress is a free service to IEEE conferences, allowing their authors to make IEEE Xplore-compatible PDFs (Conversion function) or to check PDFs that authors have made themselves for IEEE Xplore compatibility (PDF Check function).

It is important to note that submitting a file to IEEE PDF eXpress is only for creation of a compliant PDF file, you must still submit your final paper through the EDAS online submission system.

The instructions and the Conference ID required are listed in the WiMoB 2020 author guide.

Papers cannot be included in the conference proceedings without a completed IEEE Copyright Form. After finalizing your final manuscript via IEEE PDF eXpress, you will proceed with the copyright process (via the IEEE system) and fill the copyright form. Then, you will receive an "IEEE Electronic Publication Agreement Receipt". This should be uploaded into EDAS, usually by going to the My Papers tab and clicking the 'c' icon in the Copyright column of your paper.

If necessary, contact Abderrahim Benslimane at benslimane@ieee.org for any information.

For more information, please refer to the WiMoB 2020 author guide.
